ye to achchha hai ki dukh-dard sunane lag jao
har kisi ko na magar zakhm dikhane lag jao,
nil ke paniyo raste mein na hail hona
kya pata zarb-e-kalimi se thikane lag jao,
kitni mushkil se to aae ho zara thahro bhi
sahl andaz mein is tarah na jaane lag jao,
samne aao to jaise ki gul-e-tar koi
aur tanhai mein phir ashk bahane lag jao,
mausam-e-dil jo kabhi zard sa hone lag jae
apna dil khun karo phul ugane lag jao,
aql samjhae to kuchh laj rakho us ki bhi
jab junun tez ho to khak udane lag jao,
kabhi tanhai mein baitho to faqat rote raho
phir achanak hi kabhi hansne-hansane lag jao,
bojh dil par hai nadamat ka to aisa kar lo
mere sine se kisi aur bahane lag jao.
ये तो अच्छा है कि दुख-दर्द सुनाने लग जाओ
ये तो अच्छा है कि दुख-दर्द सुनाने लग जाओ
हर किसी को न मगर ज़ख़्म दिखाने लग जाओ,
नील के पानियो रस्ते में न हाइल होना
क्या पता ज़र्ब-ए-कलीमी से ठिकाने लग जाओ,
कितनी मुश्किल से तो आए हो ज़रा ठहरो भी
सहल अंदाज़ में इस तरह न जाने लग जाओ,
सामने आओ तो जैसे कि गुल-ए-तर कोई
और तन्हाई में फिर अश्क बहाने लग जाओ,
मौसम-ए-दिल जो कभी ज़र्द सा होने लग जाए
अपना दिल ख़ून करो फूल उगाने लग जाओ,
अक़्ल समझाए तो कुछ लाज रखो उस की भी
जब जुनूँ तेज़ हो तो ख़ाक उड़ाने लग जाओ,
कभी तन्हाई में बैठो तो फ़क़त रोते रहो
फिर अचानक ही कभी हँसने-हँसाने लग जाओ,
बोझ दिल पर है नदामत का तो ऐसा कर लो
मेरे सीने से किसी और बहाने लग जाओ।
